Week before April break!

This is our POD for Monday. We noticed a pattern and then used that pattern to find out how many copies were sold.

Mrs.Randall is reading a book to us called Now Let Me Fly by Dolores Johnson. it's about slaves. She is doing a think aloud as we focus on determining importance.

Mrs.Randall's book group was getting ready for their book talk. They are reviewing the important facts and how the text helps elaborate.

Abbey is getting ready for the spelling test on Friday. She is playing a spelling game with her words on Spelling city.

We went back to previous work in math on Monday

Mr.B and Mrs Randall showed us a photo collage for our EOY project. We are each creating our own!

Julia and Abbey are working on math

Taylor and Nick are playing a math game

These girls are also playing a math game called Roll and Round Them.

This was our fun jam on Tuesday.

Some people did Khan Acadamy this week and focused on a specific skill in their knowledge map.

Julia shared 2 book responses that she posted on our Edmodo book recommendations group.

On Tusday Mrs.Randall taught a lesson about one of our traits of writing, also known as sentence fluency. We played we some of our sentences to change the rhythm of a piece.

Mike is working on using a model to show .25 and .30 in math.

On Tusday we played a math game called Decimal Compare. We each have our own decimal cards.

Justin is working on a FQR chart (fact, question, and responses) for the book Now Let Me Fly.

This is our weekly reader for the week. It's about Earth Day!

Look at what Jack made! :)

When Mrs Randall was out for a meeting, we needed to set a goal to help us focus and stay on task. The guest teacher created this so we could earn more positives. We did it!

One of Mrs. Randall's reading groups made Oobleck as a project because they were digging deeper into our properties of matter unit.

The ingredients are Corn starch and water . They noticed that it is a liquid, then when pressure/force is added, it becomes a solid!

One way we communicate with our fourth grade buddies in NJ is in Edmodo. One of our friends created a Padlet and we are creating a post it's about ourselves.

On Thursday we figured out what 0.5+0.6=1.1 and used a 10x10 array to show each fractional part.

We walked two-tenths of a mile on the trail! As part of our math lesson, Mrs. Randall gave us each a pedometer and she used an app on her iPhone to track distance. We now understand how far .2 of a mile is!

This is Ryan's letter to Mr.Bill Frank and Mr.George Till.

We met our PAWS goal this week (actually exceeded our goal) so we voted on our celebration. We watch a video!

Some hot topics we discussed during current events are;

-A giant solar power plant in the California desert create an interest.

-A company in Africa turns trash (flip flops) into treasure.

-Cities across the United States debate getting rid of plastic bags...

Have a great vacation!!
