Week of 5/21-5/26

What an exciting week! Our chicks hatched!

This week we explored embryology. We got our own eggs and most of them hatched!

 
We presented or book club books!

Mr Mullens came in and taught us more about Preston pond!

We planned our all school morning meeting for Tuesday! We can't wait for our talent show!

We sang our math song, not a boring square!

Week of May 15, 2017

We had outside learning classroom on Thursday!

We candeled the eggs. The date for the hatch is Monday May 22nd. The web cam is set up so you can watch the eggs hatch.

Jason's birthday is the same day as the hatch!

We played a fun new game called Guess My Organism.

We got a interdependence field guide.

In Geometry we are playing with power polygons.

Tamra Ellis Smith (author of Another Kind Of Hurricane) came in and spoke to us about Tropical storm the Irean and Hurricane Katrina.

We are reading a book about the holocost. We are connecting fiction timelines to historical timelines.

We had crazy hair day! Hair got wicked crazy.

We watched the polygon song. We are practicing the lyrics to present at the talent show.

5/8/17-5/12/17

 

We learned about how hard it is to be a farmer and how many jobs there are of being a farmer.


We are watching vanishing of the bees and every time we watch it we learn something new!

Annabelle brought in her families local maple syrup because...
We had pancakes for our celebration!! Thank you Ben for brining in your moms recipe!

Paddy brought in his baseball he got because of his good pitching and playing.

We started a new unit in math- measurement.

We had our NECAPs testing

We did a science experiment for the NECAPs

Another thing we learned in science was that climate is different then weather and other things about climate. We created mind maps about climate and the food chain. Did you know it effects humans, plants and animals?

We got into our book clubs.

We started a new mentor text for reading workshop called Number The Stars. By Lois Lowry

We watched Paul Revere the midnight rider.

We got chicken eggs and the expected hatch date is 5/22/17
