Week of September 24

Monday:

In math today we found the factors of 100 then used that knowledge to do the same with 200.

We started word study today.

We made a planed our news papers and will hopefully finish by the end of the month.

In science we picked a question to find the answer to. My question is what color is the Sun?

Tuesday

We found the factors if 300 and than compared 100, 200 with 300 from yesterday

We played games in math

Our class family's chose numbers to find the factors. Some examples are: 400, 700,600, 500, 800 and even 1000!

In reading today our class read and did word study.

We continued to read our read aloud book titled Elephant in the Garden by Michael Morpurgo. It's really good so far!

The class continued to find facts about our topics on our science question.

Wednesday

During math we solved problems in our work books and had our weekly multiplication test.

In guidance we worked in partners doing senarious to show empathy.

In readers workshop, we continued to practice talking back to the book using post-it notes. We also learned about a second way to respond to text. In addition to giving a book talk, we can write a book review and it could be published in the Weekly Reader magazine!

Thursday

We had two Me Bags today: Kiely and Mrs. Reinhardt.

We read our weekly reader.

We watched James try to join a group.

We had elf. It was taught by Judy and Monic. We learned about insects. We watch a puppet show and did a puzzle and went outside to collect bugs.

Friday

In math we reviewed math problems from last night.

WE GOT K- BUDDies TODAY!( We are so-o-o excited!)

We also had P.E. and Spanish.

We got our "Cheetah den" up. I love it! We will be putting up pictures of all fourth graders on it.

Week of September 17, 2012

 

Today we played indoor soccer in P.E., played a cool math game in math, and worked on our bio-poems.

We watched a cool video about the two rovers on Mars. With this new knowledge, we created our own rovers in our science notebook. We created a diagram and presented what it can do.

In the lab we learned how to create a Google Doc.

Got to pick our first library books of the year

Hat day because the school reached the positive goal.

Finishing our me posters. They are hanging in our classroom and look great!

In math we got on khan academy and played math games

 

Reviewing our math problem from last night homework

Watching video in guidance

Graphed multiplication assessment

Did an empathy project to practice starting a conversation and how to best give compliments.

Practiced solar system models with our families. Each small group is creating a mini-presentation to show how and why we have day and night.

We finished our read aloud book, The Hot and Cold Summer! We really liked it. Did you know that in our school library, you could find the second book?

In math intervention block, we worked with Mrs. Randall using the iPad app Screenchomp. We created videos to show our math thinking and challenged each other to solve multiplication problems that needed to be broken down.

 

We have been reading some cool non-fiction books! Next week the fiction part of our class library will
be open.

Week of September 10




We played factor pairs and all of us had fun.all of us had combinations to work on and most of them we knew.

We learned about empathy and watched walk walk walk and calm down witch was entertaining . Both were entertaining.

We each got a science text and we all got 4 from our friends and we told 4 people 4 facts.

We got Kahn academy accounts.Kahn academy is a place that you can practice and watch videos about science and math to get better at it.

We are talking about not being passive. we are also talking about being assertive.

We learned how to talk efttely

We are commenting on other school blog its called quad blogging. The first blog is a school from England!

We did a multiplication test and graphed it

We got our reading folders.

We have been working on our bio-poem and me-posters and almost all of us are finished with this project.

We have been reading weekly readers every week and they have brain builders and many articles and it's fun to read and talk about.

 

We had crazy hair day for a pawsitives celebration

We are practicing strategies to use when taking tests.

Week of September 4, 2012

This blog has been completed by our class photographer and roving reporter!

We exceeded our pawsitives goal! We had a class celebration...a dance party!
