Week of January 27

This is Monday's POD! We are showing our work in a table to find the different ways to make 24 ounces.

This is a chart with our thinking while reading a non-fiction poem. We read two poems by the same author. They were both about space.

 
This is Julia presenting a book response on a non-fiction book called Why do Zebras have stripes.
In writers workshop we discussed how we could bring our informational piece alive.
This is the game we played called switching places. We were using strategies to add or subtract multiples of 10.
We reviewed how it looks and sounds when scholars complete quality work independently. These are some of what we are doing to help us do our best math thinking.

Our VT County Glogs

We have completed our independent research project on the Vermont county we chose. We shared them on Edmodo with our Skype friends in New Jersey. They gave us great feedback! Here is an example of one of our Glogs!

Week of January 21

Abby read some of our read aloud book the book is called The Secret Order Of The Gumm Street Girls .

Some kids in are class are performing a puppet show in ELF about snow. Nick is highlighting his lines.


Abby is showing good math work we started a new unit on numbers and place value

Bella shared her me bag on Wednesday .

We are checking our writing buddy's glog. We completed an assessment sheet to score their project according to th criteria sheet.

We are solving 3 digit subtraction equations. Sydney is checking Bella's work using the opposite math.

Bella is telling us her math strategy. We are all hard working math thinkers.

We are working hard on long math equations this is Emma's work. We are thinking about how we can work efficiently using mental math strategies.

Abby's parents came in to teach about snow. This was a fun ELF lesson!

Some kids presented the puppet show! This is one way we practice our reading fluency.

Abby's mom showed us some pictures on her power point. We noticed some cool snowflakes!

We got a cup of snow to leave on our desks over night. We made predictions on what level the water would be at when it melted.

Caitlyn brought in Apple cinnamon bread. Yum!

We did sharades in guidance .

We had stuffed animal day on Friday.

We read to are stuffed animals too.

Some of them were napping.

Some of them just watched.

We had a dance party and listened to "ready or not". Katelyn finished multiplcation in Fastt math, so she got to choose the song!

Mrs. Randall danced with Katelyn's stuffed animal!
