Week of October 24, 2016

What a week we've had!

Check out this slideshow to see some of the fun from this week! https://sharalike.com/s/pNp8

-We had Wondering Wednesday this week! We made many discoveries!

- We started this week with exploring Vermont using a huge VT map that Mrs. Randall got! We played many different games all week and even invited the other two fourth grade classrooms to visit. We taught them how to travel our state in your stocking feet!

-Georgia Wind Farm-we got to go inside the wind turbine. They taught us about how they function to be efficient. The blades looked like they were turning slow, but they actually travel fast!

-We finished revising our narratives and had peer conferences. Our publishing party will be on Monday.

-We did an awesome Skype with author Mara Rockliff! She shared writing techniques and how she first became a published author. She also showed us her dog.

-We came in second place for the week in our Sumdog competition. After, we did a Google Hangout to say congratulations with the winning team at BRMS.

-We had a dance party to celebrate Jason's hard work on Fastt Math!

Have a nice weekend!

Week of October 10, 2016

Tommy does a book talk to the class. This is a great book that we are all excited about reading!

We are participant in the global read aloud about Pax by Sara Pennypacker.

We test our joining in skills with second step. Ask us about acting out different scenarios.

We went on a hike on the school path with the paws points we earned and helped the path by listing stuff that need to be done to improve the path. We sent the needs to PIE.

Our class does breakouts! They are really fun and we are working on teamwork.

We went to maritime museum and here we are putting our boats in to lake Champlain.
This is in the museum- we pretended to go deep into Lake Champlain.
This is when we went into the museum
Measuring water quality of the lake.

Here we are studying plankton

We explored different types of plankton

Another picture of us on the lake

Collecting plankton sample.
Lunch outside
Using a sekie disk to test how clear the water was.

Fishing with a big net!

Reading buddies talking about text

Mrs. Randall got us a bike! We learned how to use it in a safe and respectful way.

We had a great week with Two field trips- Maritime Musem and Mount Philo!
