We had our last CALM group of the year.

In science we are working on interdependence. We have chosen an organism to be and created the food chain. Now we are planning our geocache.

Math block

Congratulations to Greta! She has mastered her division facts!

This is a fun math game called The Wonder Number Game.

If you haven't checked out our inspiration board, here it is! We are taking in down next week and will highlight some of our favorite quotes from literature!

We have BRMS people coming in today! All fourth grade is excited for move up day on June 5!

In writer's workshop- as writers we decided on which type of writing would work best for our wax museum project. Some of us are writing opinion piece and some are writing informational.

As a classroom family we enjoyed a nice lunch at the picnic tables.

In science, we met in teams to continue our planning and research how we want to set up our geocache.

Week of May 4, 2015

We started the week with a fun Math tournament, Aidan won!

Theo is reading quietly reading so he doesn't disturb the learning of others.

This week we worked on finding ways to solve division problems such as using the area model and equations to back up the person's thinking.

Last week we reached our positive goal so our celebration was going outside to spend time in the outdoor classroom. Quite enjoyable to be in nature and listen to Mrs. Randall read Space Case (Our read aloud text).

Mrs. Randall... Once again got new books. The Who Was and Where Is are very popular books, quite interesting in our class.

Later that week, Mrs. Randall and Mr. Bouchard introduced geochacing. We are going to make our own about organisms, ask about this at home.

We use helpful bookmarks that give sentence starters to guide discussions.

Book clubs meet to discuss text. Each group has Vermont history as the theme.

This week's Werkly Reader.

Discussion leaders lead using the digital version.

We celebrated these two mathematicians for their hard work and responsible behavior! They have been chosen to be math coaches for younger students at JES!

Mrs Randall went to Phoenix Books!

Happy Mothers Day!
