Week of December 8, 2014

 

Andrew is the M.M.L for our new week. (Morning Meeting Leader) The week starts off with a lot of news, # and I mean a lot of news.

Today for P.O.D we did handing out buttons! We noticed. Pattern, than applied the pattern by keeping a running total.

Wow 2 ways,a sentence stater,and a chart.

For math we worked on perenthesis. It was awsome! We break apart challenging equations into two smaller ones.

Porter is working on hour of code he just finished one whole course! go Porter!

We played a fun game called big array small array.

Ask you're fourth grader to teach the game to you.


For second step We watched a video, there was a boy who had a test and he got his test back and it was not the best. his friend looked over and made a big deal out of it, the boy with the test felt mad and sad he felt like punching him, but he didn't. he calmed down and agreed but he said "I'm not that good at spelling but I'm good at math".

 

Isabelle brought her me bag she has a cool bird collection! Most of her family lives in Germany and Hawaii. Wow! She is great at drawing.

Mia finish fast math multiplication on to division. She picked problem by Arena granda. Who will be next!

 

For second step, we learned strategies to be respectful of others,solve problems so we can all work together successfully,state problem without blame.

 

Aidan,Copper,Alex and Jackson are playing tri-facta. It's a fun math game we are playing for math menu.

 

 

Andrew and Owen are working on their Glog. Owen is working on Washington county and Andrew is working on Chittenden county. It is very cool.

As literary essayists, we are using our notes to guide our essay. We each have a thesis statement and evidence from the text to back up our thinking.
This is a book club that meets a couple times a week. They are reading an informational text that connects to our social studies unit on civics and government. Not pictured, Greta.

 

Khan Academy-we are each on our own learning path and we get to code as well!
Victory! One site Mrs. Randall is using for programming this week is code combat. It's awesome!!
This group has been working very hard over days on one of the problem solvers! Great perseverance!

For read aloud we are reading I am Malala this is an intense memoir! We are having powerful conversations!

Red Cat came today and Tom talked about the speakers that amplifie the teacher's or student's voice. Light speed technology is the company, red cat is there "mini name." They used infrared to transfer the person's voice from the person too the speaker.

Today we resented our county research by sharing our glogs. This Mia's presentation. Her county is Rutland.

This is Andrews Glog, he is working on maple trees in Jericho and maple products at Palmers maple store.

Good luck to Isabelle, Sofia (Mrs. Randall's daughter) and Alec's sister in the Nutcracker at the Flynn!
