Week of January 5th

Aidan finished the series of Timmy Failure!!! He gave a great book talk!

Every morning we do a jam this one is called the seated twist.

In read aloud we are focusing on the book "I Am Malala" It is about a girl who stands up for girls after she gets shot.

This is a picture of Malala and this is the cover of the book. We are doing lots of research to learn more about such a different culture.

This are our purposes and objectives of the week. Mrs Randall writes one for us every week.

In writing we are working on our literary essay. this is Amos's piece.

For math we are working on the opposite math.

 

#Mrs Randall is teaching us a lesson on math. We are doing a number talk.

Here are some of the groups sharing what they did to figure out problems. We used a visual model to connect multiplication and division.

 

In writing we are working on our literary essay. Our due date is Friday.

On Jan 20th we are meeting up with 1st graders and we are going to make a handshake and then paper mâché it. It will be an all-school celebration. Our class will present the plan during Tuesday's all school morning meeting.

Here is our scarcity of resources book group 2 people were missing so. Mrs Randall joined in on the action.

We shared our literary essays and created QR codes for our bulletin board.

 

Andrew presented on of the books he wrote using an app called book creator.

This student is using a template to plan their book response. They are creating a book trailer using iMovie.

 

One reading group taught us more about taxes.
Mia gave a book talk on a great book that focused on being respectful of the differences of others.
