We exceeded our PAWS goal last week, so we celebrated with tech time! This week we are working on smooth transitions.
Yesteday we went on a scavenger hunt to find specific features on a Vermont map with all of the counties, rivers and lakes.
We played a fun game using the iPads as part of Mrs. Randall's reading lesson. We used the app, Nearpod.
We worked in pairs to better understand how readers learn more about characters.
Mrs. Stone was student of the week! She shared her "me" bag so we could learn more about her!
In writer's workshop, we are learning about different ways writers get their ideas for fiction writing. Some writers use observations in their daily life, ask "what books do I wish existed in the world?", or think about an important issue to you and how your character might struggle with it.
We write in our writer's notebook. We collect many story ideas!
This is JK Rowling's plan for her fifth Harry Potter book! We learned different ways writers plan their stories.
In math we took a closer look at how we used strategies to better understand a math story problem. Then we gave each other feedback and added what we do well as a mathematician to our t-chart, as well as our math goal.

We had fun celebrating our summer math practice by playing different math games!
We worked in family groups to complete this math challenge.
Teams worked hard!
Happy Friday!
