Our week-we didn't have school Mon. due to MLK day

  • In math we reviewed our fraction adding homework and also did extra fraction adding, we're quite good it (see picture above)
  • Also we did fractions out of a 10x10 array and learned that the smaller the denominator the bigger the fraction.
  • At break we showed our county industry slides
  • In reading we finished our t~shirts
  • In health we started a new unit :germs

Wednesday

  • At math we made fractions on a 6 x 4 grid and proved that the fractions were true
  • we mentally added fractions( see picture above)
  • Mr.Lane came in to talk about problems(see picture below)
  • We also performed some of our problems in front of the class and voted on them.
  • In science we did a experiment to learn about how data can be organized into different types of representation so that our audience can draw conclusions.
Thursday
  • For POD, we used the strategy; make an organized list. For example we needed to figure out how to make different combinations for 24 out of 12,6, and 4.
  • In math we continued to add fractions. We also watched a cool video Lesson on adding fractions on Edmodo. We did some fun practice on Edmodo too!
  • In writing we continued our legacy writing project pieces. Some of us are using Kidspiration to organize before we begin drafting.
  • In health we talked about a certain type of germs:bloodborne pathogens

Friday

  • We evacuated due to carbon monoxide in our school (don't worry, we're ok)
  • In math we added fractions with like/unlike denominators
  • we read a book called matter and its properties(see picture below)
  • In writing we did more writing on our legacy project. Many of us held peer conferences.

Have a good weekend, Aaron
