Week of September 2, 2014

We helped Mrs.Randall meet her PAWS goal! We focused on showing respect to others. We chose to play musical chairs as our celebration. Theo said, "a wise man once said, all fun comes with risk. That wise man was me."

Readers workshop-we focused on what it looks and sounds like. We chose a now and next non-fiction text. Also this week, we practiced reading independently showing respect to self and others.

We learned how to choose just-right text and how to update our reading list.

We are enjoying all of the books Mrs. Randall is reading to us! Tacky the Penguin was great and we talked about how important it is to stay true to yourself. This is how we show respect to self.

Writers workshop- We are focusing on writing about ourselves so we learn more about each other. We are trying out some techniques in our writer's notebook. We are also working on our personal newspaper!

These girls are sharing part of the heart map they created.
We joined Khan Academy and Mrs. Randall is our coach. We are all working at our own pace and at our own level with math concepts.
Our Jam Master leads jams each day. Some are motor breaks that help us get energy out, and others helpus relax. This picture shows how we are getting our body calm and focused.
Working on our personal newspaper!
We use our Quick Word as a personal dictionary. This helps us edit our work.
We had some discovery time to work in families during math. Each group learned how to play a math game and then taught the objective to the class.
This is a chart we created in math as we discovered more about arrays.

In library we read The BB Wolf and reviewed how to use our manners.

We are so excited to join a class group on Edmodo! Ask us about what this is!!

This is our read aloud text.
We played an array game and created a tchart with combinations we are working on.
One of our classmates got this cool cast on because he fractured his arm.
Today was our day to read and discuss some cool current events! We read an article in our news magazineand shared what we want to learn more about. Next week Mrs. Randall we show us how to use the digital version. We can't wait!

We learned lots and had fun! We had fun learning together!

Miranda and Alec
