Week of February 1, 2016

Mrs. Randall, Ms. Pratt, and Mrs. Stone have been writing us hearts with kind words and inspirational words! We get one each day building up to the 12th. Then, each of us will shared kind words with each other!

Then we put the hearts in our envelopes on our desks.
Ms. Pratt read us a book that connected to our second step.
She gave us real life scenarios that we had to solve without blame.
This week's scholastic news main article was about the Redskins team name, and if it was an honor or insult.
Reading quietly with really good books!
Ms. Pratt started a book group. Ask us what it's about. It's called The Liberation of Gabriel King by K.L Going. Mrs. Randall's book club is reading Chu Ju's House by Gloria Wheelan.

This science group made Flubber, we added glue, liquid startch, and warm water.

We did a science project, and checked our data with a rubric. We self checked and reflected on feedback.

In math we took surveys and represented our data with different types of representations.

Congratulations to our new multiplication masters!

This reading group presented their book about matter to us.

We watched a video about matter on Brain Pop and then took a fun quiz!

Eva finished multiplication!

Easton finished Divsion! He has now completed all big grids!

Working on our surveys required us to think about how we can share our data with others.

We did a long jam to get our energy out. This was part of our class PAWS celebration for exceeding our goal last week.

We revised our argument writing with our writing buddy.

We have some strong writing pieces! Check out the bulletin board outside our classroom.

Ms. Pratt started reading a book to us, Crenshaw by Katherine Applegate.

You can make a difference in our state, if you write to our legislators.

Avela and Beck made a line plot for their survey.

We did a bedtime math problem solver. We learned that the tallest snowman is 122 feet tall!

Happy Birthday Anthony! Thanks for the yummy fruit roll ups from China!

Have a great weekend,

Avela and Kate
