Performance week

Monday

Our class played four corners today and Sam D.

This is what part of the class did in investigations. Only some people were ready for step 2,3 and 4. We are using concert data to solve word problems.

We had our end of unit assessment today also. The unit that we were finishing was adding and subtraction. This time around we were using three digit numbers. Do you know what the answer to this problem is? 397+959=----. If you do, leave a comment in the "comment box" at the end of the blog.

These are two picture of the eggs. The top picture is day one and the one below is day 13. They don't look different but on day 13 the embryo starts to form.

In writing our class is learning about the big six.The big six is process to help you research. Have you ever used the big six or do you know what it is? Leave a comment if you have. The first step is to understand the task!

In read aloud we talked about how much we have and how some times we say we don't like our life and we don't think about how much we have. Understanding Kek's perspective helps us see how lucky we are!

Today we had are first day of candling the chicken eggs. We wrote many observations and created diagrams in our science notebook.

Tuesday

In math we worked on estimations and how estimating will help you when you have to buy some thing. Mrs. Randall shared a true story about how she was over charged buying new shoes last weekend! Her good estimation helped her pay the correct price!

This is a picture of Jordan B and Jordan P sharing a story they wrote at snack. They shared their story at snack.

This is Mia and Jordan P. talking about their book, Ann Story.

In library Mrs.Cole is telling the class about some of the Newberry books.

In read aloud Jackson recaped about our book "Home of the Brave". This helps us remember what we read yesterday.

Wednesday

this is a picture of Michle Wingfeild at the beginning of class talking about the performence on Thursday at 6:30.

This is Abby one of Mrs.Randall's last years students. Abby some times comes to our classroom to support students. Today she arrived at 11:00 she is leaving at 12:30. She was in the computer lab helping the class with our research on someone we believe has made an impact on our state.

We had a Skype after lunch and their county was Orange, the town was Fairlee, and the school was Samuel Mory Elementery school. The class we Skyped guessed where we were and they got it right.

Thursday

Abe,Malina and J.P. shared this morning.

Our schedule today was a little off today because our two rehearsals to practice for our performence tonight at 6:30. We are so excited! Check out the movie we made and our Soundcloud from earlier posts!

This is a picture of one of the problems in our math book that we had to solve today and Mrs.Randall taught us an important lesson the amount of digits that there is in the equation there are that many equations to solve the problem.

Friday

At 9:00 Mr.Till and Mr.Frank came to the school to talk about the persuasive letters that our class wrote to the state house. Two bils got passed and one made it to the last two days then it went downhill from there. They said that compromise is hard to do, but is very important!

Taylor and Kieley interviewed the representatives with a few or maybe a little more questions. They gave excellent answers to the questions that the class came up with the interview is posted below. Hope you enjoy it! Sadie thought it was cool that the local representatives could come in and tell us about their lives.

In Spanish we started a new unit about gender. Senora Raina told us it will be the hardest unit of the year because the gender in Spain is different than hear so it will be a little hard for us to understand.

Today was the last day to finish our books on Vermont and this is one group talking about how they are going to present on Tuesday next week.
