Week of September 23

Author's Chair!!

Take a good look at our chair because it will change! Our classroom family will be painting our special author's chair this week and decorating it next week.

We had a dance party to celebrate our class exceeding our pawsitive goal! It was fun!

We are all having fun doing J.E.S jams!!!

We are reading some crazy awesome read aloud books in our class.

We are all working on very hard on our writing.

We practiced some strategies for writing in our writing notebook. Readers are noticing when meaning breaks down and then we use a fix up strategy to help us better understand the text.

Math is challenging this week so make sure to ask your son/daughter some math questions for our multiplcation test tomorrow!

Ask us about creating a factor rainbow to track factors of a number.
Making arrays!
Using manipulatives in a respectful way to support our math thinking!
Three students shared a response to text they faced timed on their google docs and came up with an idea so they made a I movie and came to mrs. Randall. She showed them how to put it on edmodo. Now we can all watch and reply.

Our student of the week shares his "me bag".
Writers created a heart map to house memories that are close to their heart. Some lifted an idea to begin a new entry in their writer' notebook.

On Wednesday some of us sandpapered our author' chair so that it's ready to paint tomorrow!

On Wednesday we had elf and we learned about spiders and arachnids. The word arachnids came from a Greek god. " spiders have terrible eye sight even though they have eight eyes" there are a bunch of different kinds of spider webs all over the world. Elf was very fun and we got to go outside and search for spiders and play spider games.

On Thursday we skyped another state in the U.S.. We asked each other some questions about their state. And they asked us some questions.

This is our teacher and their teacher skyping

We have a multiplication test every Wednesday and these are the people who got 30/30 two times!! Congratulations!!!!

We focused on how we get help in our class room on Thursday

On Friday we had a debate on wether animals should be kept in zoos or not.

I hope you were interested in what we did this week

Have a good weekend!!! Abbey
