Week Two: Things Get Rolling

This week we started to really dig into school. In math we learned some new games. We learned to choose books that were just right for us and wrote about events. It was a fun and productive week.

Students learned some new math games this week to get ready for math menu. Here some students are playing math BINGO.

Olivia learning about Walt Disney.

These are some of the books Mrs. Randall read to us as we discuss our pillar of character-respect.
As readers, we are working on reflecting on our independent reading block. We created an anchor chart for what it should look like and sound like during readers workshop.
We are focusing on non-fiction text. In our browser box we have a now and next just-right non-fiction text.
A comfortable reading spot is important because we need to stay there the entire time to show respect to self and others
Morning jobs! We have been practicing completing our jobs independently.

We arrive with walking feet and calm bodies.
Next, we make our lunch and snack choice.
After, we take our chair down, place homework and planner on our desk and homework folder in basket.
In math, we are understanding how arrays help us visualize multiplication equations. We found all of the factors for specific numbers and created posters with arrays to prove our products. We completed a museum walk to notice how we thought of our audience to make sure our work was clear.

Each week we get a news magazine to explore! On Frdays, we use the digital version-it's great!
Happy Friday!

Jack and Nolan
