Week of February 2, 2015

Snow day Monday!

Tuesday started our health class! Nurse Amy will be teaching in our room for the next five weeks! Today we talked about hygiene.

As readers we are using strategies to infer meaning. We read a partner article about the Titanic. Using our background knowledge from last week's article, we focused on the question-could this tragedy have been prevented?

Congratulations to Miranda!! She finished Fastt Math!

Our jam master chose a fun motor break today!
Second Step: dealing with peer pressure. Today we used the problem solving steps to deal with peer pressure. We were assertive and said "no" to people who want us to do something that is disrespectful, dangerous, or against the rules.
Playing with power polygons!
We held our closing meeting on Tuesday! We usually do this reflection on Fridays!
Owen was in a race 14place in a biathlon Nordic skiing. Not too bad!
We had Miranda's celebration for finishing Fastt math!!!!!

Alec finished multiplication!!!!
We are on a digital field trip on an African safari!!!
Mrs. Randall shared an audio book called The Greedy Triangle by Marilyn Burns.
We love the Nearpod App!! We had a fun math lesson today focusing on polygons.
Results from our quiz after the lesson.
Graphing multiplication scores.
Our new read aloud text! We are focusing on getting inspiration-random acts of kindness!
We practiced using a protractor to measure angles.
Some of us are creating tutorial videos for first graders! Using an app called Educreations we are showing subtraction strategies.
In social studies we learned more about the three branches of government and who our local representatives are. Mr Till and Mr Frank

  1. For future Bloggers think about spreading all the facts out and each day taking the most important things and not zooming in on one specific day.
