Week of October 21

In math today we made connections between multiplication and division. Did you know you use multiplication to solve division? Here are some students using visual models to show their math thinking.

This morning we had a special class celebration in honor of Abbey! She finished Fastt Math! We had a dance party and Mrs. Randall danced on her desk!

We Skyped our friends in California to discuss the read aloud book our classes are reading. Our discussion director and vocab enriched led the discussion.

We are making our own Vermont maps to study from! Today we located 3 states that border us and one country!

We each chose the topic for our reading letters. Then we found evidence from the text to back up our statement. We are learning more about different ways to organize our thoughts as writers. Organization is one of the six traits of writing!

Ryan sprang his ankle but people helped him get stuff he couldn't get and get stuff done.

Mrs. Adams got us pumpkins for Halloween! We will be doing pumpkin activities next week!

This is our narrative writing checklist.

Sending good thoughts to Nolan and Justin on their hockey games this weekend! They play for the blue and white Essex Sting. They are playing So. Burlington and BAHA. Good luck boys!!!

Check out the score in Typing Club! We are improving on our keyboarding skills! Remind us of the home keys! After, we used these skills to type our narratives.
In ELF this week we learned more about leaves. We each studied our own leaf and then used characteristics to find it in a big pile.
Emma sat in the authors chair and shared her stuff from Disney and pictures of dogs.
These animals need help! Would you hug or help? Ask us about articles in our news magazine!
Be aware that Mrs. Randall will be posting some pictures from her trip to Washington, DC this weekend! She is running the Marine Corps Marathon!

Thank you for reading our blog! Please leave comments below!
