Week of October 7th

Did you know that Earth's tilt is the cause of why we have seasons? We watched a Bill Nye video and learned how to make a diagram in our science notebook to share our knowledge with others. After we worked in small groups to use our new knowledge about Earth's seasons and day and night, to present a model to teach kindergarteners!

We put the big job (independent research projects) on hold because we can't use our sites to research right now.

We are writing our thoughts about the text, Out of my mind. We organized our thoughts in our notebook so we can post on Edmodo and communicate with our friends in California and Wisconsin!
As a guest reader Nolan read our read aloud book for all of us. Good job Nolan!

Great writing with lots of effort and time when we were responding to our text.

Great sharing with the class and friends during author's chair. The picture below shows a student's thinking.

Smart math work

New math games

We are figuring out the groups and packs in guidance so we can take responsibility for our actions and stay smooth.

We completed our NECAPs for reading and we thought it was easy! Math will be next week.

As a class we are working on smooth transitions and listening with attention!

Fun jams sweet! We did a jam from another school!

This is a picture of a students math thinking. They used the strategy of organizing data in a table and noticed patterns to solve the problem.

This sheet helps the class photographer and roving reporter stay organized.

Have a fun weekend!

Nate and Troy
